There is a lot in Mexico. The most crowded: Janitzio Island (Michoacan State), Milpa Alta (Mexico City metropolitan area), Oaxaca City. It happens the 1st and 2nd of November. It is not about people dressed up or parades, it only occurs in few places (the dress or the parades). The tradition consist basically in pay homage to the deads, the family ones, attending to the Cemetary with the food, smoke and drink that their dead ancestors liked. In some places the ceremony take place at home and the relatives set an shrine inside the house instead of going to the grave yard. The Day of the Deads (Deads in plural because it is a festivity of the people who died and not about The Dead), is perhaps the most important emotional celebration, the Virgin of Guadalupe's day is the most religious one.
