Mine is what this guy has :


Why i like it : because I thought Nikon F3 is the masterpiece of Giorgetto Giugiaro until I saw that camera. In my opinion that is the most beautiful 35mm SLR
Why I don't own it : because I think it is too heavy for my needs.

The Linhof Techikardan 4x5. I like the L shape design best (Somehow I don't like the U shape design. The design of the Sinar is more advance but I like the look of the L shape). It's a small camera for 4x5.
Why I don't own it? I can't afford to feed film thru it.
I have the F3 and I wish that my Nikon Df is as small as the F3.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Compass: Lovely finish, unconventional design and distinctive detailing, but would I actually get much value out of it except as a pretty object? It would seem to combine view camera convenience with 35 mm image quality.

Ducati Sogno: Looks like a charming and slender design, if a left-handed one. But as with the Compass, it's kind of pricey, and as a camera ...? I got other half frame cameras to choose from.

Pentax 17: Just taking a deep breath and biding my time. If I still want it come November or thereabouts, maybe I'll buy one.

I admit that I'm more of a film-camera bargain hunter and don't like having too much $$ tied up in the hobby.

No, I don't have any dream cameras. I'd fancy some more lenses, basically long telephoto, but it's nothing particularly important that I'd use very frequently.

I would like a Rollei SL66 and a Fujifilm Gx68. I don't need either, but I think they are cool.

A Linhof 612 would be very nice. When I mentioned this in the past, someone suggested that Horseman made a version of a 612 as well. Hmmm, must not succumb to GAS.....

Item 2 on a vague wish list: a Rolleiwide.

Oops, I forgot: Item 3, a Leica IIIG

I'm in agreement about the aspect ratio, although the Fuji GW680 would be a better choice for me.
Of course the aspect ratio concern is also met by 110 film cameras, and M4/3 digital cameras

ooohh, I always forget about the SL66, probably because I can't afford one, and am unlikely to ever. Even less likely would be a Rollei Hy6, which I'd also love. (is it meaningful that I love the Rollei SLRs but have no interest in the Rollei TLRs?)

No, I don't have any dream cameras. I let the GAS drive me to buy the cameras and lenses that I wanted. That got me what I wanted and cured my GAS.

If I was crazy wealthy, Fuji GX617, with 90, 105, 180, and (I think there's a forth lens 360mm ?)
All the finders, Fuji fitted case, center filters, ground glass and a couple years all paid trip around the world. With my own portable lab to develop film along the way.

Another Leica M or LTM body, with several small good quality lenses, viewfinders, goggles accessories and, if an LTM, a Visoflex (?), hoods with filters and one hundred rolls of tri-x or HP5+, 36 ct.@

truth be told, right now I've got more than enough 35mm bodies- now I'm more interested in building up a lens arsenal, however, another MF camera and some more cine cameras would be nice...

I’d very much like a Mamiya 645 Pro. It’s by no means unobtainable, so I see it happening in the not so distant future.

The Nikon F3 did become my favorite 35mm SLR but when I bought it in 1982 it was a compromise. I liked the F2 better and I had at the time the F2AS and I wanted the motor drive but the cost of the motor drive MD-2 and its battery pack MB-1 would be more than the cost of the F3HP and its MD-4 motor drive. However, after using it for a while it grown on me and it's now my favorite camera.

Deardorff V8 8x10 - These are sadly priced into the stratosphere and come with the additional costs of much more expensive film, new tanks, etc. So... I've held off.

That said, over the past several years, I was able to get every other dream camera I ever wanted in my youth: Nikon F2 and the Leica M2, M4, & M5. The M2 really wasn't a dream camera, it was an opportunistic deal at a great price. The other two - especially the M5 - have been on my bucket list for 50+ years. The Nikon had some wear on it, but shoots flawlessly. The M bodies all have been CLAed by DAG or Sherry Krauter within the last year.
