Not a good sign in my opinion.

I would actually argue that this is a good sign, these "founders" were film-makers, not film manufacturers, its likely they bought some funding to get things moving and perhaps they got tired and wanted to move on?
We shouldn't speculate who did what or where the money went, but its easy to draw conclusions that may or may not be correct.
All I know is the Italian government caused numerous roadblocks and appears to have a level of corruption also. Hopefully they can come to the party and give the company some much needed funding, they largely were responsible for most of the mess they faced in the early days.
If Silvio can bring back some of the staff laid off from the original company and secure funding, then we might see some serious moves in a positive direction soon.

But I don't recall any announcement that he left the company entirely.

EDIT...his LinkedIn profile says he was president of Film Ferrania s.r.l from May 2014 to June 2023 so perhaps he has stepped down???

When I went to their website, I got:

Looks like they currently have a weird redirect loop, where filmferrania.com redirects to filmferrania.it, which redirects back.

Yeah i reached out to him about 18 months ago and said things were still moving along.
I didn't realize he was the company president, I thought he was mostly involved in marketing, I believe he was potentially an investor in the company and provided some funding, so who knows, hopefully we will hear from him again publicly at some point.
I sent him an email yesterday to his Ferrania email address and it bounced back, so perhaps he is no longer involved?

Hopefully you get a response soon, it's still a good sign if the emails don't bounce back as undeliverable. I think we should have an idea in the next months what's going on.

Yeah not exactly promising news but thank you for reaching out to Dave Bias. I remain somewhat hopeful that the company still wants to keep film alive for the next 100 years. I do like P30 in the right circumstances and will probably be shooting some in Lanzarote next month.

I'm not one of those who are enthusiastic about top-level management changes that are results of departures of founding members, but hope Ferrania can survive this.

If anything, they've shown they don't quit easily. It does not look good, thought...

Haven't received any hint of an answer from Ferrania itself, I've received on the contrary an answer from one of its distributors for Italy.
It's in italian...
Basically after management changes the production was halted and it's believed to resume in the following spring.
Fingers crossed.

FWIW, I was looking at the FF website and checked if I could add a roll of P30 in the shopping cart. I got a e-mail today saying "Hai lasciato articoli nel carrello" which google tells me means "You left items in your cart" E-mail was from FILM Ferrania <store+*******@g.shopifyemail.com> (stars replacing the numbers in the orginal...) so the site is not completly dead yet

The upheaval isn't exactly confidence inspiring but it looks like they're still intending to keep going. If nothing else, P30 and P33 have a committed group of users.
