I love it Andy! Looks like your wifey and you get along just like me and mine. Unless I pi$$ her off that is. I exposed the roll of Foma Ortho in my folding Kodak only to find out after I had given it a good tune-up that the infinity stop on the bed was loose. Yup, not one shot was in focus. At least I had all the previous light leaks taken care of. I'm going set focus again and then take it for a spin. One thing I have noticed with older box cameras is that you very rarely have light leaks.
I have never tried D-70, but it sure looks simple to make. Wonder how it would compare to Pyrocat-HD for grain and overall sharpness?

That is next on my to do list... how it stands up to Pyrocat-HD. One thing I did notice right away, is that there was very little stain.

While you were jostling your wife, Andrew, I bet she was saying to you " Can't knock me down, Ray"

It might be as well to remember what happened to Ray in the earlier encounters 😄

Interesting to try D70 and thanks but not sure I saw anything in it that made me want to use it over other developers

Did you use an alkaline fixer?

I used Ilford Rapid fix. I've used this fixer for pretty much every staining developer, without any issue. I made a video about it a couple years ago... @koraks tested it as well in his blog, and we both concluded that acid fixers were fine to use. No evidence of impeding stain. But... maybe it is an issue with D-70. Further investigation will be required. I've got some TF-5 just sitting there waiting for something to do... 😉

I think there's a little too much sulfite in that formula to allow a lot of stain formation. I bet it's deliberate, too!

I think you nailed it! Time to do a little tinkering, me thinks...

Yes, I overlooked the SS content. I'd say that's the reason for low stain and not my thought about the type fixer. Smack center of forehead with palm of hand........Ouch!

Don't feel bad. I didn't see that either 😁
