Kowa SW aperture blades visible at 3.2?

Hi

I liked using my Rollei 35 so much that I bought a Kowa SW (28mm) and a Rollei 35S (40mm), both in need of some CLA/untested so I got them cheap. In the case of the Kowa SW I guess also the state detracted collectors. I love the design of both. In particular the sound and feel of the Kowa SW winder.

Upon inspection of the Kowa SW I was a bit surprised that the aperture blades were visible (see photo) when on f/3.2 which is the larges aperture of this camera. I thought that it must be something wrong with the camera as I cannot remember this to be the case for any of my other cameras. However, when looking at photos of other Kowa SW cameras on ebay I see the same.

Anybody know why this camera was designed as a f/3.2 when it looks like one could open up the aperture even more? Is it perhaps limitation in the lens that would make corners soft if using larger aperture? Or should they not be visible?

Can't answer the question about the aperture, but the Kepplerian viewfinder is a little marvel!

Yes, I was so surprised how it looked and how bright it is. No framelines, so I guess I have to use my GR3 to get an estimate. Also close focusing down to 50cm, not sure I have an external rangefinder that can measure that nor how the parallax will be. Will find out.
