You could spend a lot more time with the camera.
There is still dirt under and in the hot shoe, maybe even corrosion since it is made of metal:
Disassembly is not that easy because the unit consists of several parts and cables also come off the inside:
The inside of the top cover is additionally covered with transparent plastic film above the prism, presumably to insulate the circuit board there:
In terms of functionality, you could leave it as is if the flash on the camera works.
It is of course possible that corrosion may spread there. But then you would have to completely disassemble the entire camera and look through it.
That would of course be a nice project, you would learn a lot from it.
But you have to set limits, otherwise you'll get lost in projects whose purpose is questionable
