HOLD YOUR CARDS TO CANADA!!!
Canada Post is still on strike and the backlog is huge. I'll post on here when Canada Post is back to work. If you are mailing cards to Canada you should wait until the strike is settled.
Nothing is getting through.
-Rob

Don't I know it. I ordered a Canon FTb with 50mm f/1.4 lens that the seller assured me was in good working condition with no fungus. Lo and behold, the mirror got stuck on every shot, the meter was dead, and the lens had fungus. I returned it immediately, and it has been sitting in LA for over a month, as the seller is in Canada. I have plans for that $100 as soon as the return arrives back :D

I received two cards/prints. First is jvo's Jellyfish. Very cool and somewhat eerie. Don't think it's a fossil, but can't figure it out. Seems to be lit from the inside. Interesting! And second is Michael Howard's Fort Moultrie Gun Battery. Nice! Does this go back to the Civil War, or is this more recent, maybe WWII? Don't recall seeing any of those rotating things in the Civil War. And there were shore defenses for WWII, but fortunately, we never had to use them.

Thanks James and Michael!

Just received @jvo 's cool Jellyfish. Beautiful creatures and very unusual photograph. Some parts look like it was taken through a microscope, some look like underwater and then there's the light...very cool! Thanks, James!

Received several cards in the last week or so.

Thorsten, “Fiskeläge på Gotland” - One of the countries we hope to visit next year - this image has a timeless quality about it
mfohl, “Barn” - That barn looks divorced from the rest of the world - just watching time pass - Always impressed by Holga's.
mschem, “Impossible” - I was almost certain that was Velvia before I read the back of the card. It always really pops with an obvious color palette.. Great shot of a mural with one of Ali's most famous quotes.

A BIG oops, and apology, to KyleMika for not recognizing his contribution of "Lone Tyre" to this exchange.

My cards were delivered to the post office this morning. Those in the US should be seeing these cards by week-end.

"Cuban Mansion Renovation" by rlibersky is an interesting study in how culture trumps, pardon the pun, financial need of the community. I purchased a box of this very paper (Kodabromide Postcard stock) at a darkroom sale, only to have the box opened, and paper fogged, by the non-photographer administering the sale. Kodabromide was my paper of choice when in high school.
"Ghostly Stones - Arlington Nations Cemetery" from Michael Howard is reminder of all those "who gave the last full measure of devotion" for their country. Thank you.

Regards,
Darwin

I received BTC's "Hoffman Laboratory". a cool shot of some bike stands. I almost wish the text wasn't in the shot, the stands and the bikes are strong enough on their own. Almost looks like the bikes at the end are mating ... Very well seen, and with a Pentacon! Thanks Brian.

It seems a little slow this time around - I've only received 3 cards so far listed above.
Christmas mail and maybe a bit of Canada problems thrown in

One more arrived yesterday.

rlibersky, "Cuban Mansion Renovation" - Wonderful image that really suits the paper stock. Arrived a little battered by the postal services which just adds to the appeal.

A number of cards have arrived over the past few weeks:

Cuban Mansion, Rlibersky: an interesting documentation of a painter contributing to a building renovation, printed on Kodabromide no less — been a long time since I’ve seen anything on that paper.

Impossible, mschem: panoramic of a mural depicting Muhammad Ali. The long reach of the boxer suits the pano format really well.

Tree, mfohl: I liked how the sunlit leaves in the foreground were rendered as almost pure black on the trunk, a fun play on contrast.

Fiskeläge på Gotland, Thorsten: a moody shot of a cluster of homes on a fishing village with (I presume) the Baltic sea in the background. The small homes clustered together against the wide expanses in the foreground and background are an interesting contrast.

Jellyfish, Jvo: An image of a glowing jellyfish which is both eerie and fascinating. Can’t tell if this was backlight or whether is was a phosphorescent variety.

Stamping Mill, Bodie, drpsilver: Seems quite serene today, but it must have been a busy place in its day. I occasionally run across photo projects done in Bodie, and it looks a photographer’s paradise.

Centennial Monument, Michael Howard: Nicely composed image of a monument commemorating an important moment in American history.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

The mail in Canada has started to move again, so we'll see how things turn up.

@drpsilver 's postcard has just arrived, "Stamping mill, Bodie". A wonderful 4x5 contact print from a scene that looks like 19th century, but still in full production. Thanks for this!

Received, yesterday "Stamping Mill Bodie" really beautiful card, looks like DRPSILVER used a nice yellow( maybe orange?) filter to enhance the sky. Perfectly printed contact print. Darwin, thank you for the nice card.
Best Mike.
