This is where we can maintain a list of camera repair shops. The idea behind this is that it's an ever-updated list of repair shops where anyone can post the name and public contact information of camera repair shops.
Relevant information to post includes, for instance:
* Name of the shop and perhaps its owner/operator
* Contact information + website address
* Scope; i.e. what kind of brands/products, what kind of repairs
* If a shop has gone out of business and it has not been reported before, please also feel free to announce it here
In order to keep things focused and easy to navigate, please observe the following when posting:
* Only post if you have new information to share that's not already present in the thread. When you're about to post something, please use the search dialog (select 'This thread' instead of 'Everywhere') to verify it's not already been added before.
* Post only shop information. Do not use this thread to post your review, testimonial, preferences, experiences etc.
* Post only public/business information. Do not post private information (such as phone no's etc.) of owners/operators etc.
* When posting email addresses, please use the following format to prevent spam: "address [at] domain.ext", so e.g. "john [at] amazing-repairs.org" and not "john@amazing-reparis.org". Also see item above on business vs. personal information.
* Independent repair shops have preference in this thread; I'm sure all of us can figure out that in case of a defect on a Canon camera, we may try to reach out to Canon Inc.
Although this is posted in an 'analog' area, it's OK to include shops that repair digital or 'hybrid' equipment as long as it's directly photo related (no MAC/PC repairs, but e.g. film scanner repairs = OK).
We may remove any messages that do not observe the guidelines above. If your message is removed, please don't take it personal. If we found the information useful, we have included it in another way, e.g. in the list of off-site overviews below.
Anything that reeks of advertising will of course be removed from this thread. Yes, there's likely to be a grey area. That's why we have human moderators.
Off-site overviews can also be posted; I'll include them here in this post so they always remain on top.
