I received an old Nikon FG for repair, and its aperture simulator was jamming and creaking.
The tension spring was rusted and broken.
I replaced it with the tension spring of an abandoned Nikon F601.

After replacing the mirror damper and thoroughly cleaning it now looks nice again.

Easy - on the FG. Four screws.
But on the F601 - five screws - secured with blue adhesive.
