It even comes in two varieties: regular and "alternative".

We almost lost both our boys at birth. Way too much going on to even think about a camera, and the thought of a stranger in the room at such an intimate time bugs me for some reason. I guess different strokes for different folks (And there is already a genre of photography for that)

I agree Mark, it's too private and intimate a moment to have outsiders other than any medical professionals present.

I planned to use some delta 3200 with our second kid. But he was too quick so we had to do it our selves in the sofa. I had the ambulance driver in one phone and a nurse in another while trying to help as best I could. As soon as we were finished my wife told me to go and get the camera to take a picture of her and the boy. I remember taking that as a sign that she was ok. Then the ambulance arrived.

What's next, I wonder?

Conception photography?

If only I had a photograph of when I was just a twinkle in my father's eye.

Takes the idea of pre-visualisation to a whole new level.
