Thunderstorm rolled through about an hour ago. Dropped about a half inch of rain plus a lot of small pea sized hail. Temperature dropped from 19C to 14C in minutes

Woke up next to the Smith River this morning (on purpose, too). Yesterday was in the water playing with the kids. Tough life. Fortunate not to have smoke right now -- especially seeing how there is a 150,000 acre fire less than 50 miles to the east that has closed the highway going by my town for the last week or so. All the local National Forests have shut down, no backpacking in the Trinity Alps until November.

Sunny at the moment but that could all change.
This sort of sums up our weather locally.

A friend of mine makes these t-shirts and it sums up the weather for the whole west of Ireland.

Snow day today. Teleworking. Not that it's any different from "normal" work nowadays, other than I can sit around in my PJs...

Not too far off from Phoenix, it was mid 60ish, depending on the part of the Metro you are in. Should be back to the high 60s to low 70s in a couple of days. Had enough snow in the mountains for the ski slopes to open, no rain or snow in the forecast next 2 weeks.

We recently had rain for a change so we are about 10+" while normal is 3", but we have a long way to go to recover from years of drought. This week the weather is unseasonable cold and even goes down to 45°F with highs in the upper 60°s. Poor us we have to remember where we put our sweaters and jackets away many, many years ago.

How was the weather for the Rose Parade on the 1st? It is usually ridiculously nice for the parade while snowing everywhere else in the country. For many years we set up a place along the route to watch the Parade...I spent the night on the street my last time (1972 probably). Even worked on one of the floats one year.

My first and only night camped out for the Rose Parade was 1971. The Rose Parade was started by realtors to sell houses in southern California to midwesterners. Every New Years Day the midwesterners huddle around the television for warmth from the Rose Parade. So it still works.

Currently -33C, lots of snow. F'n cold!

Now if you could get it down to -40, that would be the same for °F and °C both at the same time together at once.

The Accuweather app on my Ipad is pretty handy for checking weather conditions any place I want to go, and a lot of places I dont!

I imagine so...even the smog use to thin out for the Rose Parade.

We are getting a fraction of the rain we were forecasted up here at the other end of the state. Perhaps a half-inch coming over tonight/tomorrow morning at this point. A pretty mellow low 50s sort of day...occasional sun through the clouds. Makes working inside tougher...

Edit to add...not too bad of an afternoon. Got in three games of bocce before it got too nippy.

Snow on the ground and too cold to go out and make pictures. Waiting for spring to continue my project.

Snowfall followed by frozen rain last night. Shoveling that shite was not my idea of fun at -4°C this morning. Hard on top, we underneath. Hit zero by the time I got home in the early afternoon. 7pm and 2°C...
