I have been reading Darkroom/Photo Techniques, a big stack given to me recently. In about 2001 a new product announcement was about Tetenal Work b/w photo paper. Never heard of it. Anybody have a clue?

Was it Agfa?

Don't know the exact provenience of that paper, but I'm using up a box of 50 18x24 cm sheets of that right now and it's just a generic RC paper, benevolent, develops well in both Harman developers and tones well in selenium.

On Tetenal's UK website you can still order Tetenal RC paper and it's competitively priced. I bought some secondhand Tetenal Vario Ultra on e-bay a few years ago and use it for contact sheets. It seems fine.

I dont know if this is same as Tetenal Work paper. Strangely enough I don't think I have ever seen a thread on Tetenal B&W paper until now on APUG although you'd think that we must have some users other than phaedrus for whom it is their stock paper, just as we have regular Ilford, Agfa, Forte etc users

The Vario paper was Agfa MCP. The fixed grade one might have been made by Kentmere, which would explain the limited availability in extreme grades lately...
