I finally got an inherited lens back from having it remounted, and this was its first shot, a little drainage near the Ridge Trail in Forest Park, Portland, OR, USA. I've shot the spot before in other seasons, but I think the visibility through the bare trees helps. 8x10 Eastman View 2-D, 12"/6.8 Dagor, FP4+ in PC-TEA, f/32, 2.5 s, contact printed on MGIV RC pearl and developed in Liquidol.

I really like that shot
Thank you! This is one of my favorite places to shoot but is surprisingly hard to get a decent comp.

It looks as though someone got their feet wet in photography. 🙄
No feet wet this date however about 4 or 5 years ago I dropped a mint condition Minolta XD-11 in the drink. I fished it out but the electronics didn't like it. Still debating on sending it in for a repair.

swamp-like forest near the sea, Northern Italy.
First one is a scan, second one a darkroom print (really bad and washed out reproduction, the original print has nicer blacks).

Intrepid 4x5, Schneider Kreuznach 90mm f5.6, Ilford FP4+, Pyrocat HD.

There is so much happening in this photo! So many layers, textures and contrast. The movement is really lively too. Bet this would look great printed nice and big.

Thanks. Here's another one from the same roll. I'm not sure which one I like better.

EOS R, 24-105L. Sunken Pond. This is fun place to visit and shoot at. Water is on the rise. It was bone dry 1 month ago. This was Sunday. Water is up now about 10' or so and will continue to rise through the spring to the waterline on the trees.

Thank you! This is a tough place to shoot. I have been coming here for about 7-8 years an only had about 3 images total that I am happy with. 2 on film, one (this one) digital. The first one I was pleased with, I printed large and it is hanging in my office.

June 28, 2024, Armstrong Woods, CA. Minolta CLE, Voightlander Ultron II 28/2, Portra 160. Slightly too small hood. I thought it was ok for 28, (but one finds out after the fact)... This photo is from the 4th roll of 35mm film I ever shot on a rangefinder...RF split image is tricky compared to TTL SLR. Redwoods are tall, even for 28mm. Lots of tombstone... Worthy subjects for a tilt shift.

2nd roll ever on a rangefinder... (CLE, Rokkor 40mm 1:2, 400TX, Tiffen Orange 21). June 27, 2024. Sonoma, Hood Mountain, Pythian trail. It was hot, breezy, more greenery near the bottom, but fires had burned through this area a couple of years ago. Orange was possibly not the best choice? (it is the Golden State afterall, and it was drier/browner/blacker as I neared the summit) The other mistake was EV correcting +2 for the yellow filter. The CLE has aperture priority and a very good exposure system...probably should have let the camera handle exposure. Also maybe should have used a variable ND instead. It was a pretty bright day...And I did not bring enough water, which influenced my desire to pause along the hike to take the same photos with the green, red, yellow, and no filter. (that was the plan anyhow) Plus it was dusty, sweaty and I was concerned with smudging the little 40.5mm filters. This is an old water cistern, part of the water management scheme back in the day.

Where in Middle TN? I lived near Nashville as a kid and that name sounds very familiar.

Chris

At the Air Force Base (Arnold). There is a WMA attached/on base property with this pond as a public spot (outside the base fence but still on fed property). There is a gravel road that takes you back to the parking. Off exit 117 on I-24.
