2nd roll ever on a rangefinder... (CLE, Rokkor 40mm 1:2, 400TX, Tiffen Orange 21). June 27, 2024. Sonoma, Hood Mountain, Pythian trail. It was hot, breezy, more greenery near the bottom, but fires had burned through this area a couple of years ago. Orange was possibly not the best choice? (it is the Golden State afterall, and it was drier/browner/blacker as I neared the summit) The other mistake was EV correcting +2 for the yellow filter. The CLE has aperture priority and a very good exposure system...probably should have let the camera handle exposure. Also maybe should have used a variable ND instead. It was a pretty bright day...And I did not bring enough water, which influenced my desire to pause along the hike to take the same photos with the green, red, yellow, and no filter. (that was the plan anyhow) Plus it was dusty, sweaty and I was concerned with smudging the little 40.5mm filters. This is an old water cistern, part of the water management scheme back in the day. I have a couple of the CL's and the 40/2 in Leica badge (same as the minolta badged one). Great cameras and super light. Great hiking camera and the 40mm is a sweet spot in a standard focal length. Not quite wide but wide enough and long enough for most situations.
