Got "The Hole" From @Ajven today. Lovely card. It looks cold! Fortunately, my two trips to Czechia/Slovakia were in the spring and summer. Easier to sit outside and drink the best beer in the world. Mine should be going out in the next week or so.

I also received @Ajven 's "The Hole" today.
A beautifully done graphic composition, well seen & executed!
I really respond to detail scenes of this type.

I also received "Dürer's Flowers" by @Martie W ...a lovely intimate color flower portrait, with spot color design elements. Very nicely done!

@AnselMortensen your "Winter" card arrived here where winter is currently residing (the three feet of snow on on the ground outside attests to that). That's a very dense tree - I have a similar one outside my door (but it's mostly buried right now). Hmmm, similarly dense, but a different species.
The postal service was kind enough to stamp
SAN FRANCISCO CA 940

on the photo side, just inside the black border, in the snow, so it's nice and easy to read. They also stamped something similar on the other side, but upside down, at the bottom, so all the stamps are nice and unmarked. Excellent - free stamps!

Today I received the first two postcards:
"Winter" by @AnselMortensen : These days here in South Moravia we have freezing weather (-10C at night) and I'm looking for something "warmer". And I received "Winter" postcard from San Francisco 😂 The postcard has been tortured as well by postal service. However nothing such a brutal as @Don_ih described above. Don't get me wrong I like these "marks". It imprints the postcard journey. If I want a sterile picture I can open instagram (it is a joke, I haven't been using Instagram for 3 or 4 years). Back to the picture: I really like these minimal images - I can look at them for long minutes and feel relieved from endlessly staring at the computer. I also appreciate hand written address and test - it is a complete analogue approach! Thank you for the postcard.
The second postcard is "Fence 2" by @Don_ih : Canadian Post is apparently more considerate of postcards. This round I sent "Hole" in a fence so I can feel some resonance. The grass growing along the fence against the white snow looks very nice. Good eye! The same as above - I can look at these pictures for a long time. Thank you!

I like to take my postcard photos just before I enlarge them. So, what I had to look at this round was a lot of snow....

I received your card today. Someone must've thrown a baseball pretty hard to punch through the fence 🙂 I approve!

Nicely done. Looks frosty!

Just received @Todd Barlow 's "Bronte Creek Driftwood" and what a special one it is! I love that you've tracked the movement of the driftwood over several springs and I can't believe that 40-year old paper can look that good. Beautiful contrast and gloss. Thanks, Todd!

I received Ansel Mortensen's "Winter" this week. Very appealing composition, even as I look at it from our 30 below wind chills! I like the range of grays in the snow, it takes skill to capture that. The post office was kind in this case, and all the stamps and marks are a nice embellishment to its "history." Thank you!

Hi. Great video. It’s nice to hear the story behind the picture. I haven’t done the exchange before. I’m curious, do people ever share pictures on the forum of the postcards they send or receive? Or prefer not to? I would be interested to see more of what people are receiving, and what condition they arrive in.

It's all about the wait and surprise when you check the letterbox.

How can I get involved with postcard exchange?

At the beginning of April, a new sign-up thread will be posted. You can then post on that thread how many cards you wish to send. You can check out the FAQ here. You can spend the next couple of months perusing the forum and joining in the conversations.

New week, new postcard! I received "Acorns and Asphalt" by @BHuij - the first photo in this round without snow. At first sight I thought this is some kind of bark with seeds. Very nice detail. I'm surprised that the postcard was delivered with a very unusual address field orientation! Thumbs up for US POST! Thank you for the postcard!

Two cards today. First, from @Martie W "Durer's Flower" - a very nice classic-looking color print - reminds me of high-quality pictures you used to see in books and magazines (but without the offset errors). Very nice!

Also received @Rob Skeoch 's oversize card. You say you think it needs more contrast, but I don't think so. There is a wide range of tones and good depth to the image. The Foma paper you used doesn't have the brightest base colour, so that might be your issue. I personally like it. It too has a classic "bookish" look, if you know what I mean.

Received two nice cards today. Don_ih's "Fence 1", a nice minimal winter scene. A fence with a tangled plant in the foreground, and a line of trees and a house or two in the way background. Nice combination. What's that black thing in the field? Oh, it's postal scuff. Nice print, I like it. And drpsilver's "Tag, you're it!", a shot of a whimsical sign. A heart tagging someone. Someone falling in love? The sign is painted on wood. Definitely worth sharing. Thanks Don! Thanks Darwin!
