Beautiful print Sanders.
More Epson woes? I've had some Canon woes myself. I wish the freakin' things would just work.
I have an Epson 3880 and once ran out of the matte paper I was printing a series on. I had a larger version of the same paper so I cut it to the needed size. My printer would not recognise it. I tried fouling it calling it different papers but nothing worked. I ended up using a large sheet with several images and then cut. I have no idea how the printer could tell unless the larger sheet was of slightly different thickness.
Sanders,Patrick, thanks for the compliment. Yes, Epson woes. I have everything ready to roll. Press, check. 365nm UV box, check. Inks and papers and other paraphernalia, check. DTP plates, check. QTR curve for printing to the plates, check.
The P900 will not recognize any of the sleds I've made to carry the plates through the printer. I've tried several different approaches. Each time, my P900 says I've not loaded the proper paper and spits it back out.
The P900 is a marvelous machine when it works.
IDK; I have the same printer and have printed all manner of custom sizes on it. It's very flexible and always accepts whatever I feed it without complaining. Maybe it's a different firmware version?
BTW, the last kallitype you posted is just spectacular.
A couple of years ago a lightning strike right outside our house took our most of our electronics including the printer. Since I had plenty of their expensive inks having the printer repaired was the least expensive way to go. I don’t know what the technician did but it worked for what I normally print and has otherwise behaved well so that had been the only issue and was a one time thing I have been satisfied.IDK; I have the same printer and have printed all manner of custom sizes on it. Clive,
An 8x10 Kallitype from an in-camera negative (FP4, developed in double strength PMK). This print was gold toned before fixing. Paper used: Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag.
Wonderful!
Okay, let me give this a whirl. Here's a kallitype, toned in platinum. I shared this with two other photographers. They gave diametrically opposite opinions. If you have thoughts, I would like to hear them.
Clive,
A very nice print. Care to provide any details... process? Paper? Etc.
Robert, thanks for the feedback, and the compliment. TBH I'm tired of trying to find the proper path here. The site, for its part, is not at all interested in accommodating the sensibilities of members who object to nudity. I don't like the "spoiler" solution. It seems coy, and doesn't help for Gallery images. So my solution is to post nudes sparingly on PHOTRIO.
FWIW, It is more accurate to say that "the site" is struggling with this, then to say that "the site" isn't interested.

I think this was made using the juice extracted from Peony flowers in distilled water or Gin. Exposure was several days. The paper was Arches art paper.
