Cloudy and sunny with the odd bit of drizzle here in Cumbria, England at the moment...on the whole I get pretty reasonable weather for commuting to work on my bike.
Last night, 4 inches of rain in an hour and a half, high winds knocked leaves off the trees and clogged storm drains. Flooded streets, water backed up into stores and basements, mud slides, main highway closed. Oh yeah, tornado watch until midnight. We listened to the wind all night, gusts to 65-70mph.
Its me again. Today is Nov.2 and last night the temperature dipped to 28F. Summer held on this year until the second week of October. I, for on am glad that Summer is over. Time for the leaves to change color...........Regards!Not me, I'm not laughing. Our temperature has already been in the upper 90sF. High humidity also. Summer started here on or before June 1, 2019, not June 21 and will last 4 more months or until the first of October. A darkroom without an air conditioner here doubles as a sauna. Unlike other places, here we photograph in Fall, Winter, and Spring. Darkroom work (air-conditioned) is done during hot-humid weather in the Summer when it also is too hot and miserable to take pictures outside.............Regards!
Desert heat - what? In Palm Springs, where I was just a month ago, it can be 100-105F with ~8% humidity and it feels just warm; it's pleasant.
95F in Washington or Oregon, with the humidity, is just nasty.
People from the Great Lakes region or southern U.S. just laugh at our "humidity" though.
I applaud you for your precision, but I doubt I could tell the difference - I would be simply miserable in either case! They say -33 with the wind but it feels more like -40 where I am.
Yep!Gray. Drizzle. 4 degrees Celcius. Probably the same for Matt...
