A lot of batteries, I've just been given a Mamiya 645 Pro by a friend who borrowed my plain 654 some years ago as a spare body, She had left the AA batteries in the power drive, and some had burst, luckily there was no corrosion.

So 27 heavy-duty AA batteriess, from Poundlnad, as well as more AAAs. Then a pack of 5 6V PX28 for the Mamiya bodies (I still have a 100S). My wireless trigger needs 12v 23A LiCB batteries, and the receiver a 3v CR2 to again a 5 & 6 pack.

Then I need to carry a spare PP3 for my meter, so I carry 6 different batteries as spares.

ordered the plastic lens last week, should arrive next week along with a 3'' screen hood. Though I've heard horror stories about the hood being sewn wrong. I'll take my chance and restitch the Velcro correctly if needed.

A hard-to-find Phenix DC901 -- with a Phenix 28-70mm f3.4-4.8 (!!!), two-touch, macro zoom lens. First, it has an all metal, vertical shutter that does not need a battery. Speeds from 1s to 1/2,000!!!. TTL LED metering in the viewfinder. Multi-exposure operation, DOF button, PC connection, hot shoe, self-timer, 45-degree, split-image focusing with micro-prism collar, tripod socket, cable release connection......

I didn't need it, but it's in mint condition with case and strap for $25. Here it is with a different lens:

On a trip to Buenos Aires and could not find may battery charger for my Nikon 7Zii. The hotel pointed me to a shopping area so I took a cab. Stuck out and took a cab back. I explained that I needed the concierge to call stores asking for a charge for the exact battery model. The concierge found a store on the first call. They had one in stock but they were going to close in 15 minutes and closed the next two days because of the weekend. The concierge arranged to me to take a cab, have the cab wait and the store would be held open for me. That worked. When I went to charge all the batteries, the Nikon charger did not work. Then I found my chargers hiding under some clothes. When I get back I will have to contact Nikon and hopefully they will honor the warranty from Argentina.

I bought first a 40 liter dry bag with a separate iPhone bag and then on the trip a 7 liter dry bag. The dry bags were bought for going on excursions off ship in Zodiacs, for a scientific cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula inside the Antarctic Circle.

You need to tape over the name (like a Leica) so you don't get robbed!

I'm not worried. It's metered-manual-exposure only.

It's like with my car. I don't worry about anyone stealing it because no one can drive it -- it has a MANUAL transmission. The catalytic converter? Now that's another story!

I want a modern automobile with a 3 speed manual column shift, airbags and collision avoidance. I think I'm going to be waiting a long time!

Fine, not boring - a yellow and a sunshade are always great things, esp. for uncoated optics...

A 24mm f2.5 made by Mitake for $35 in mint condition with case -- Minolta mount. It was sold under several labels, such as Mitagon, Porst, Spiratone, etc. This one is a Formula 5. Multi-coated, focusing to one foot, 62mm filter thread. Solid, all-metal construction. A real winner.
